Blacktown City Libraries offers a wide range of material from all of our branches including:

  • Literacy - specialist materials aimed at developing adult literacy in native English speakers
  • Language Workshop - resources for learning English as a second language, as well as books, kits and audio-visual material for learning languages other than English
  • Magazines - please note: the latest issue is not available for loan but may be read in the library

  • Spoken word - a wide range of fiction and non-fiction titles on CD and cassette

The library includes over 292,000 titles for lending covering a comprehensive range of subjects suitable for all age groups.

The Max Webber Library also maintains special collections in Local Studies and Family History.

Home Library Service

The library also has a Home Library Service for the housebound residents of Blacktown. This service was established for people who cannot visit the libraries in person due to age, sickness or other incapacity.

To join this service a special application form is needed, and it must be signed and stamped by a Doctor of an authorised Registered Nurse. These application forms are available from any library, or ring the Home Library Service on 9839 6687

Once the application form is received the library staff will interview the applicant of their reading or viewing requirements and will organise a regular delivery.

This service is free.
