Blacktown Library Wins
2009 Blacktown Advocate Business Achiever Award
Community Service / Not-For-Profit Category
Max Webber Library Blacktown was nominated by an anonymous customer for excellent customer service and was voted in the Blacktown Advocate 2009 Business Achiever Awards, in the Community Service / Not-For-Profit Organisation category. The Library was judged the winner in its category by a combination of online questionnaire and visit by an anonymous professional 'mystery shopper'. Winning this award is a credit to the Library team.
The Awards evening was held on 17 July 2009. Cr Pendleton accepted the award on behalf of Council.
Summer Reading Program Presentation Night
As part of the Summer Reading Program at Blacktown City Libraries many families took the challenge of enjoying a good story. Over 300 children "dived into a book" and completed the program which ended with a presentation night on Thursday 19 February 2009. The Summer Reading Program will be on again next summer.
